Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how ProtoClaw (“ProtoClaw”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our managed OpenClaw hosting service (the “Service”).
- We process data needed to run your dedicated OpenClaw instance (including configuration and operational logs).
- If you connect third-party channels or AI model providers, those providers may receive data you send through them.
- We limit internal access and use it only to operate, secure, and support the Service.
1) Information we collect
- Account information: email address, account identifiers, and basic profile info you provide.
- Billing information: payment status and subscription details. Payment card details are typically processed by our payment processor, not stored directly by us.
- Instance data: configuration values you set, skills you add, and data your OpenClaw instance processes while operating (for example, messages and tool outputs).
- Operational data: logs, diagnostics, timestamps, device/browser information for the dashboard, IP addresses, and security-related events (e.g., login attempts).
- Support communications: information you send us when you contact support.
2) How we use information
We use information to provide and improve the Service, including to:
- Provision and operate your dedicated instance.
- Secure the Service, prevent abuse, and enforce policies.
- Provide customer support and troubleshoot issues.
- Process billing, payments, and account management.
- Maintain reliability (monitoring, backups, and incident response).
3) Connected services (channels, models, integrations)
OpenClaw can connect to third-party messaging channels and AI model providers. When you enable these, information you send through those services is also processed by them under their own terms and privacy policies. This may include message content, identifiers, and metadata required to deliver messages and responses.
4) How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the Service, including with:
- Service providers (subprocessors) for hosting, storage, monitoring, support tooling, and payments.
- Third-party platforms you connect (messaging channels, model providers, integrations).
- Legal and safety: if required to comply with law, protect rights/safety, or investigate abuse.
- Business transfers: if we’re involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
5) Data retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business purposes (e.g., security, billing, dispute resolution). Retention periods vary by data type. Backups may persist for a limited time after deletion.
6) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7) Your choices & rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can also disconnect integrations and channels you’ve connected.
8) International transfers
If we transfer information across borders, we take steps designed to ensure an appropriate level of protection consistent with applicable law.
9) Children
The Service is not directed to children, and you may not use the Service if you are under the minimum age required by your jurisdiction.
10) Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We’ll update the effective date above, and if changes are material, we’ll take reasonable steps to notify you.
